Two Goats Shot at Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Homes Property: ‘It’s Just a Senseless, Cowardly Act’

I love their show “Fixer Upper” on HGTV. Someone was probably drunk or someone took a bet. If not either one of those scenarios whoever did it is indeed completely whacked in the head.

“We are working closely with the Waco Police Department to bring this person to justice,” Magnolia public relations director Brock Murphy says in a statement. “We’re saddened and shocked by this senseless crime, and at the same time, so grateful for the outreach and support from our community.”

“It’s just a senseless, cowardly act,” Sergeant Patrick Swanton of the Waco Texas Police Department tells PEOPLE, confirming that beetween 8 p.m. Friday, June 17th and 7:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18th, an unidentified person or persons trespassed onto the property and shot the goats multiple times. “This was obviously a very violent individual.”

Workers at Magnolia Homes — the rural complex made famous by the Gaines’ hit HGTV show — discovered the slain goats, which the family kept in a corral for visitors to pet.

“These animals were in a small, confined area,” he says. “They couldn’t get away from whoever did this.”
