This isn’t the only one. The SWAMP is deep and its filled with snakes.
Stephen Kelly, former congressional affairs chief for the FBI, is working as a part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s team to investigate Russia interference in the 2016 election, serving as a congressional liaison.
“Stephen Kelly is exactly who I would hire if I wanted to share as little information with Congress as possible,” a Capitol Hill staffer told the Daily Beast for a report published Tuesday evening. Before working at the FBI, Kelly worked for Sen. Patrick Leahy’s, D-Vt., Judiciary Committee staff.
As Mueller is conducting his investigation, simultaneously, committees in both the House and the Senate are conducting their own investigations. As a result, there are concerns the investigations may conflict with one another.
Kelly will keep Congress updated on the special counsel’s findings and is responsible for keeping friendly relations between Mueller’s team and the investigative teams on Capitol Hill.
Kelly has been a part of the investigation since near the beginning of the special counsel’s investigation, but his role is being disclosed for the first time now.
