Fox News fires ‘The Five’ co-host Bob Beckel

Wasn’t he fired before???

Fox News fired “The Five” co-host Bob Beckel on Friday, a spokesperson for the network said.

A spokesperson for Fox News said in a statement provided to TheBlaze that “Bob Beckel was terminated today for making an insensitive remark to an African-American employee.”

Friday’s announcement marks the second time Beckel, a liberal pundit, has been fired from the network. Beckel, 68, parted ways with Fox News in 2015 after what the network described as “personal issues.” He briefly worked for CNN before returning to “The Five” earlier this year.

The panel show, which previously aired at 5 p.m., recently moved to prime time.

Fox News has faced several recent controversies, such as the high-profile departure of its former anchor Bill O’Reilly in the wake of sexual harassment allegations, which O’Reilly denied.

The network’s founder Roger Ailes died Thursday. Ailes was ousted from the network last year after multiple employees — including former anchors Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson— alleged that Ailes sexually harassed them. Ailes denied the allegations. CNN reported that 21st Century Fox reached a $20 million settlement deal with Carlson, as well as smaller settlements with a “handful” of other accusers.
