The Left is all about free speech when it’s speech that they can control.
A fundraising e-mail sent out by the Hillary Clinton campaign sometime last week argued that the Breitbart News website has no “right to exist” and would be taken down if Clinton wins the election.
Clinton’s deputy communications director Christina Reynolds wrote:
“We’ve had a conservative media in this country for a while. I don’t always like what they have to say, but I respect their role and their right to exist.
Breitbart is something different. They make Fox News look like a Democratic Party pamphlet. They’re a different breed altogether — not just conservative but radical, bigoted, anti-Muslim, anti-Semitic conspiracy peddlers who never have been and never should be anywhere near the levers of power in this country.
It goes without saying that we have to beat these people. But I want to beat them so decisively that their kind never rises again.”
Around the same time as the e-mail went out to select donors, Donald Trump announced he was hiring Breitbart’s Stephen Bannon to head his campaign. It appears that move shook up the Clinton campaign quite a bit.
The Freedom Center is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Therefore we do not endorse political candidates either in primary or general elections. However, as defenders of America’s social contract, we insist that the rules laid down by both parties at the outset of campaigns be respected, and that the results be decided by free elections. We will oppose any attempt to rig the system and deny voters of either party their constitutional right to elect candidates of their choice.
