It seems that this year we have seen numerous incidents at schools around the country where Islamic practices are being taught. The latest incident to draw public criticism is that a Denver school district required students to visit three places of worship included a synagogue, a Greek Orthodox cathedral, and a mosque.
While the trip initially seemed relatively balanced, parents were outraged that students were required to wear “long pants, covering their ankles” and that girls were required to “bring wide scarves or hooded sweatshirts for the mosque.”
“Public schools are forbidden from holding girls to different standards than boys,” claims radio broadcaster Peter Boyles.
Some parents believe that students should not be required to obey Shariah law to learn about Islamic culture.
What do you think? What would you do if you were a parent at the school?
