Mike Wilbon called Jerry Jones a slave owner. Now Al Sharpton who doesn’t have an original thought in that big ass head has done the same.
When Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his stance on the national anthem crystal clear, there was a lot of backlash.
Jones said the following last Sunday:
“If there is anything disrespecting the flag, then we will not play. Period. We’re going to respect the flag and I’m going to create the perception of it. […]
I know this. We cannot in the NFL, in any way, give the implication that we tolerate disrespecting the flag. We cannot do that. I know the vice president did leave because in his opinion, the teams were. We know that there is a serious debate in this country about those issues.”
Game day isn’t until Sunday, but NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has also relayed that NFL players need to stand for the national anthem.
On Thursday, Al Sharpton chose to weigh in on Jones and what he announced regarding the anthem.
Sharpton said the following on MSNBC:
“Now, you put that with the fact that Jerry Jones takes a knee one day in the name of unity, but says I’m going to bench you if you take a knee. That’s a plantation kind of mentality.”
But he wasn’t done there. Sharpton also had a lot to say about how the NFL has so many white owners. And it gets more head-turning from there.
